Everyone has a list in their head of places and events they would like to go to, being a petrolhead most of my are car related. I grew up reading Fast Lane magazine which like most glossy car mags had beautifully photographed cars in stunning locations, the international motorshow coverage was an eye opener too. So its no surprise my list consists of some of these locations. The internet has only made my bucket list grow, places and events I had never heard of being discussed and shown on social media.
This is my own personal bucket list in no particular order, some I have completed and some I hope to complete, while others seem a long way off. Hope you like it and inspires you to make your own.
Geneva Motorshow
I have always wanted to go to the Geneva Motorshow as most major model launches seem to happen there, plus where the strangest and wackiest modified motors seem the norm as are pretty ladies on every stand. Held each year at the Palexpo right next to the airport.

Bonneville Speed Week
This will be a pilgrimage I hope to make one day. If I can stay on site in an Airstream that would be even better. Modified cars that wouldn't look out of place in Mad Max and streamlined vehicles make timed runs down the salt flats as fast as they can. Its a sight I long to see for myself.

SEMA Show
Good excuse to go to Vegas. Some nice and some really awfully tacky modified cars shown at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Retromobile
The very best of europe in the Porte de Versailles Exhibition Centre, Paris.

Drive Route 66 in a Muscle Car
Inspired by American road movies and old Americana, driving this road in a Honda would be sacrilege.
Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este
Stunning cars in a stunningly beautiful location on the shores of Lake Como in Italy.

Goodwood Festival of Speed
Nicknamed 'God's car park' and for a very good reason. A motoring garden party in the Earl of March's estate. Sip on champagne while watching a variety of cars thunder up the hill climb trying to claim the fastest time to become king of the hill. Stroll around the Concours d'elegance and watch the amazing air display.

Goodwood Revival
Imagine going in a time machine to watch motoring racing, that's the best way to describe it. All vehicles on and around the track are pre 1966 when the track originally closed.

BMW Welt
I won't be buying a new BMW just yet but would still love to look round and have a tour of the Museum and factory. The architecture is just as interesting as the cars it houses.

Sand Dune Off Roading
Join the rich Arabs in Dubai ragging some expensive SUV over dunes looks like a lot of fun.
Ice Driving
I actually enjoy driving in snow (as long as visibility is good), its just all the other idiots who can't drive in snow that takes away my enjoyment. Slow driving in snow or ice can teach you great car control, empty supermarket car parks are good for this but some people get the hump with me honing my car control. So proper ice driving really appeals to me. Not sure if I would like to do it in a old tail happy 911.
Brooklands Museum
Brooklands looked like an amazing circuit who's life was cruelly cut short by the outbreak of world war. Parts of the circuit are now under housing and other developments, but at least we can still enjoy parts of the banked circuit, the club house and other buildings housing motoring and aircraft exhibits. Also home to Concorde, the London Bus museum and right next door to Mercedes World.

Cite de l'Automobile
Housing 400 classic, prestige and racing cars including the largest collection of Bugatti's in the world. Also known as the Schlumpf Collection, but thats another story.

Whatever cars you dream of, I hope you make the pilgrimage to your petrolhead nirvana.
