The results of Singer’s Dynamics and Lightweighting Study (DLS) will be shown at the 89thGeneva International Motorshow, Palexpo, 2019 in Geneva, Switzerland, within the Michelin display located at Hall 5, Stand 5261, March 5-17, 2019.
DLS is a client-inspired collaboration from the California-based design house of Singer Vehicle Design together with Williams Advanced Engineering — part of the UK-based Williams Grand Prix Engineering Group — and a formation of technical partners, in pursuit of the most advanced air-cooled Porsche 911 in the world.
As announced in November 2017, the project began when Singer client and Porsche enthusiast Scott Blattner, requested lightweighting and high-performance enhancements for his 1990 Porsche 964.
To meet the goals defined in collaboration with Scott, Singer engaged globally-renowned technical partners to engineer a selection of restoration and modification services strongly oriented toward lightweighting and dynamic gains.
When it came to tires, this no-compromise approach required the development of bespoke solutions and an extensive testing program. Michelin’s philosophy of ‘Devotion to Detail’ meant that they were ideally aligned to collaborate and innovate with Singer in pursuit of extremely challenging aesthetic and performance targets.
