Bridge of Weir To Present British Legends At Concours of Elegance 2018

A selection of ‘British Legends’ will take pride of place on a unique Bridge of Weir feature for this year’s Concours of Elegance at Hampton Court Palace.

Celebrating the most important and iconic cars of the past Century, automotive luminaries and high-profile friends to the Bridge of Weir Leather Company will each pick the British car that’s had the greatest impact on their lives for the weekend between 31 August and 2 September.

A final selection of cars will be displayed at the event, where the panel of famous industry faces will be appearing on the main live stage to tell automotive stories which have inspired and resonated best with them.

Names including Aston Martin President and CEO, Dr. Andy Palmer, Senior Vice President of Geely Design, Peter Horbury, Jaguar Land Rover’s Design Studio Director, Wayne Burgess and Director of Design at Rolls-Royce, Giles Taylor, have all previously selected cars which celebrated the important connection between man and machine.

Each week the ‘British Legends’ campaign will hear from a different automotive expert, and their story will be told on the Concours of Elegance website (www.concoursofelegance.co.uk) and social media channels.

Bridge of Weir Managing Director, Karen Marshall, said:“We are very proud to celebrate a Century of automotive design at Concours of Elegance this year. It’s 100 years since the Bridge of Weir-clad Model T was produced by Ford and since then we have provided leather to a number of classic cars, many of which will be celebrated at this year’s Concours of Elegance. We are excited and privileged to have some of the most prolific names in the industry selecting their ‘British Legends’ for our unique feature at Hampton Court Palace this September.”

Bridge of Weir has been in the business of manufacturing leather for the automotive industry since 1905, supplying to many of the most iconic manufacturers, including Aston Martin, Ford, Jaguar Land Rover, McLaren, Volvo and many others. Adult tickets for this year’s Concours of Elegance start from just £25, with concessions from £17.50, more details can be found at: www.concoursofelegance.co.uk
